Off-Road 101 Class Session

 

Disclaimer – THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE TRIP. PLEASE MAKE PROPER ARRANGEMENTS BEFORE PLANNING. I WILL DO MY BEST TO FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR YOU IN THE EVENT THAT YOU CANNOT MAKE THE TRIP, BUT I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT.

This training session is limited to 12 rigs per day. This means no more than 12 rigs present for the training session per day. If you are bringing a passenger(s) they either need to pay the passenger fee and will be included in the training session. 

No Experience Necessary! Beginners welcome! Learn how to use your vehicle’s off-road features in a controlled environment under skilled instruction.

REQUIREMENTS:
1: Your vehicle must have a working 4LO, Low Range, shifter, knob, or button. If you are unsure if you have this, please email with your vehicle year make and model and we will confirm. overland@exploringnh.com

2: You must have a working/charged FRS radio (walkie talkie). These are available pretty much anywhere. From Ninja Turtles walkie talkies for kids to hunting radios, they are all pretty much the same. Walmart has some “Frozen” themed ones for $20/pair. Dicks Sporting Goods has plenty. Amazon has these Midland FRS radios (pair) which are really popular for $23.

Off-Roading Topics Include:

Offroad 101 – no prerequisite required. Must have a 4wd vehicle with 4-low.
Join us for the ExploringNH Introduction to Offroading 101 course. This course consists of a short classroom session as well as guided hands-on trail time. It is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to confidently get out on the trails while practicing Tread Lightly and enjoying the great outdoors. We want you to be comfortable in your own vehicle and know that you can operate it to its full potential. This course provides the necessary foundation for more advanced courses to further hone your skills. We also cover safety and recovery gear that you should carry to be safe while on the trails! Below is a short list of some of the concepts we will discuss during this course:
Basic 4wd system overview
– Best practices
– Minimum equipment requirement
– Offroad driving concepts
– Recovery gear + proper use
– Improving your vehicle
– Overlanding concepts
– Communications
– Tread Lightly
– Hands-on trail time
